KARLOS KUAN is a filmmaker, storyboard artist, and illustrator, best known for Specter (2024).

Originally from Manila, Philippines, Kuan pursued a B.F.A. in Sequential Art at Savannah College of Art and Design and graduated in June 2023. Originally from a comics and illustration background, Kuan worked for grassroots publisher Level Ground Comics as Associate Editor and Head of Social Media. He was involved with the production of several of LGC's anthologies and zines: Dream Weaver: Tales From The Subconscious, Memento Mori: Death & New Beginnings, Nod To Nature: An Environmental Zine, and Cryptid Catalogue: A Multicultural Bestiary.

During his editorial run, Kuan simultaneously made the jump to film as the Writer, Director, Editor, and Executive Producer of the award-winning short film, Specter. In a single night, Kuan successfully directed a 15-member cast & crew through the production of the one-shot film. Specter went on to earn several awards from festivals worldwide and premiered live in the historic TLC Chinese Theatre as an Official Selection in the 24th Beverly Hills Film Festival.

A dedicated visual storyteller, he currently works in Atlanta, Georgia as a freelance storyboard artist and independent filmmaker.
